Faith & Doctrine

The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are given by inspiration of God and are without error in the original texts. We believe the Scriptures originated with God but were written by people and thus reflect the backgrounds, historical contexts, and vocabularies of the human authors. The Scriptures are the unique and final authority on all matters of Christian beliefs and practice.

God and the Holy Trinity
We believe in one God, creator of all things omnipotent, omniprescent and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Fall of Man
Although created in the image of God, Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden of Eden. Thus mankind was plunged into rebellion against God and destined for eternal separation from Him. God promised to send a savior for all who would repent and trust him.(Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:6-8, Genesis 6:5, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-3, Genesis 3:15)

The Divinity of Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and was true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. We believe he was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now acts as the only mediator between God and people. (Matthew 1:18-24,John 3:16, John 8:46, Romans 10:9,10)

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the active manifestation of God's spirit in the earth. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to draw people to the saving work of Jesus Christ. This work is done in and through the life of the believer and brings conviction and clarity of a person's need for the forgiveness of God through Christ. He regenerates their heart and indwells them when they believe. His ongoing work is to guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 3:3-5, Romans 8:2,9; John 16:8-11,14; Acts 1:8)
